Wake-up Call
A few of us went on a guided tour through the Sólheimajökull glacier. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see such an amazing sight. Our guide showed us how the glacier is actually becoming smaller which is very concerning. When we came back from the program we found out that a glacier completely melted in Iceland for the first time ever; it was an even bigger wake up call to the reality of getting back to "the real world." It's about coming back and putting to work what one saw abroad and how we can implement it into our lives. Every time I was trying to dispose of something I would get confused and have to see the pictures on the signs to make sure I was disposing the object correctly because the University of Iceland has four different containers for waste. After seeing that I know that UCSD has to follow a similar example.
