Sydney —> Cairns (North Australia)

When in Australia, you know you HAVE to visit the Great Barrier Reef before it’s gone for good!

While studying abroad in Australia, I’d recommend gathering a few of your friends together and planning a trip to Cairns in northern Australia. This is where you’ll be able to see the Great Barrier Reef and take a trek through some of the rainforests up there!
To plan for this, I’d recommend getting some plane tickets from Sydney to cairns, getting an Airbn, and start planning out your snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef through visitcairns.com!
This trip isn't inexpensive, but it’s completely worth it, because the Great Barrier Reef is a breathtaking view. Along with that, visiting the crystal cascades is phenomenal and truly worth seeing. The Crystal Cascades are a series of waterfalls in the rainforest of northern Sydney, and you are able to jump into the refreshing water for a swim! If you’re brave enough, I’d recommend looking for Fairy falls, which is a gorgeous waterfall that drops into a secluded swimming pool, that is absolutely stunning to see!
If you do head to the Crystal Cascades, try going early and leave well before it gets dark…. there’s no phone service, so schedule an Uber to pick you up, or else you may be in for a trek trying to get back to civilization!
