A Weekend in Capri and Positano
One of the greatest things about studying abroad is being in such close proximity to so many other amazing cities and towns and having the time to go and visit these places. When coming abroad to Italy, the only 2 places I really cared about planning a weekend trip to was Capri, an island off the coast of Southern Italy, and Positano, a small cliffside town on the Amalfi Coast. Although taking these weekend trips are a ton of fun they are also extremely stressful to plan, or I found that to be true for me at least. With that being said, I am going to breakdown where I stayed and how I successfully reached these two dream destinations of mine.
Accommodations: My friend and I stayed in Naples at a hotel located extremely close to the Molo Beverello dock where the high speed ferry to Capri boards. We chose to stay in a hotel as it was just the two of us and we did not feel safe as two girls staying in an AirBnb alone. Additionally, my mom works for the Marriott so I was able to receive a heavily discounted rate for this stay and am very lucky I have that privilege. I would say if you are planning on going to the Amalfi Coast and are looking to stay in an AirBnb, search for one in Sorrento or the towns surrounding Sorrento as it expedites your trip to both Positano and Capri also, I wouldn't say Naples is the safest or cleanest city so be wary of that.
Transportation: Since Naples served to be our home base we had to take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento and then take the SITA bus in Sorrento to finally reach Positano. The tickets for the train and the bus are both very inexpensive, costing about 20 euros total for a 24 hr pass both ways. To get to Capri, we took the high speed ferry from the port of Molo Beverello in Naples, this was very easy to reach as it was a short walk from our hotel and the boat ride to Capri was only about an hour. The cost of the ticket however was a bit on the pricier side, totaling out to be around 45 euros to and from Capri.
Capri and Positano are my favorite places I have ever been, they are a must see if you are in Europe and an absolute must see if you are in Italy!!!

Capri is an island that has it all; jaw-dropping natural beauty, a see and be seen scene, amazing cuisine, world-class shopping and water in colors you have to see to believe.
