Excursion Trip to Austria

For our psychopharmacology program, we had an excursion to Vienna in Austria. While I was not too familiar with the city of Vienna prior to this program, I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to the amazing history held in the architecture of the city, Vienna had amazing people, great sights, and superb food.
My favorite of this 4-day excursion trip was an amusement park we visited. The Prater amusement park was a great way to take a break from our studies. Housed within the Prater, we visited the Chocolate Museum of Vienna where we got to be chocolatiers for a day and make our chocolate bars. In addition, our instruction gave us a lesson on the origins of chocolate, which date back to a pre-hispanic ritual drink, Xocolat, from the Aztec empire in present-day Mexico. While all of the different things we did in Vienna were great experiences, including taking some nice shots in Volksgarten, and seeing a copy of the first pharmacopeia De Materia Medica, the Prater Amusement park is a must when in Vienna.
