Week 3 (Mono Lisa and I made Eye Contact)

This week was very full of stuff. One highlight is going to the Louvre Museum. It was amazing so much art and history. I even waited to take a picture with Mono Lisa. So much catholic pieces that were very detailed. They also had collections of famous dresses from different brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada. Every dress or piece of fashion had the room decorated accordingly for example it looked so royalty and the lighting very dimmed. It felt like I was in a castle. When we went on a lunch break we ended sitting with a guy that is from San Diego and is an Alumni of UCSD (What a small world), he was giving us advice and the reason we started conversations was because he had a San Diego hat. It is so fun talking to new people and even if not locals the tourist as they always seem so excited of their plans here in Paris.
I tried the famous snails in a local French restaurant. I was a little grossed out at first, but it took some convincing of my friend. They were delicious!!! It changed my life for good, they were so good to the Pont I want to make them once I get back home. Every French food item I've had feels so comforting. The dessert such as macaroons are life changing.

I also napped by the Eiffel Tower and saw every sparkle. It was a moment that kept making me reflect on who I am and how dreams do become true. It gave motivation to keep doing what Im doing by working hard in school. It was a symbol of that getting out of my comfort zone is necessary and was a bittersweet moment.

I also got my portrait drawn by a local artist who said Im really easy to draw. (The drawing looked nothing like me) This made me feel like in a very good mood because I thought it was hilarious. I noticed I get an average of 30-40k steps a day so I never feel guilty of eating or even missing the gym. I can live here forever, I would be so heathy and fit. As a UCSD student who walks everywhere and uses public transportation everywhere I still walked a lot more here in Paris.

Im at the point in my abroad that Im feeling sick of the idea I need to leave soon. I feel like part of is staying here and it feels like home. I navigated my way through and learned a lot. I had my bad days and good ones as well. One thing I learned is that I am very privileged to have been able to immerse myself into a new culture
