GetYourGuide Tours From Dublin

One of the best ways to travel around Ireland and to learn about its history is to book bus tours on the GetYourGuide App. The first tour was to the Giant's Causeway, Dark Hedges, Dunluce, and Belfast in Northern Ireland. The two pictures at the top show the Giant's Causeway, which is an amazing formation of columns of hexagonal rocks that were formed from a flow of lava about six million years ago and is known as the "8th Wonder of the World!" The tour guide told us a story about a Giant who wanted to live there, but there was a man who was scared of the Giant. The man decided to dress like a baby in order to scare away the Giant because the Giant thought that he was the baby of an even bigger Giant. The picture on the bottom left is of the beautiful scenery that we walked by on the way to the Giant's Causeway. We were actually sitting on the edge of a tall cliff, but it seems like it blends in with the green area below us. The photo on the bottom right shows the Dark Hedges, which was planted in the 18-century and is one of the filming locations of Game of Thrones! We also stopped to take pictures by Dunluce Castle, but we were not able to see it because of the foggy weather. The weather here in Ireland is unpredictable, but you can see the castle if you happen to have good weather. Lastly, we went to Belfast to see the capital of Northern Ireland and the birthplace of the Titanic. We spent an hour and a half there to do some sightseeing, shopping, and eating delicious food before we headed back to Dublin. This was an amazing tour that I will never forget!

Another tour that I enjoyed was to Wicklow Mountain, Glendalough, and the medieval city of Kilkenny. The first stop was Kilkenny, where we spent an hour exploring. We visited the 12-Century castle of Kilkenny, which is pictured in the bottom left corner. We learned that the cylinder towers are the oldest parts of the castle because the rest of the castle kept getting destroyed and rebuilt. After we had lunch in one of Kilkenny's artisan cafes, we drove through the beautiful Wicklow Mountains on the way to Glendalough. We stopped at "Glen of 2 Lakes" where we had a nice walk around the lakes and enjoyed the scenery, which is in the top left photo. In Glendalough, we watched a demonstration of a shepherd with his border collie sheepdog pictured in the bottom right corner. It was really cool to see the dog herding the sheep, and I learned that they love their jobs! My favorite part of the whole tour was when we got the hold the baby lamb because they are so cute! This was one of my favorite tours, and I highly recommend it!
