My Top 5 Tips/Advice for Tackling Berlin
There were several things I've learned since and after arriving in Berlin for Global Seminars. This is what I'd like to share...
- You can generally get by with your credit or debit card if you found yourself without cash. Generally, most establishments only accept Visa or MasterCard. For certain restaurants or establishments, you may only pay in cash for bills that are typically under $10-20 range unless otherwise stated.
- Google maps or some type of transportation app can be your best friend! Having some type of app will help you when traveling or getting around if you don't know how the use the map or at hand. You could find faster or more efficient routes to get to your destination be it by train, tram, or bus.
- Definitely easy to assimilate to the culture. Most people speak English so it won't be too difficult to get around.
- The classes are real! There's quite a bit of reading and films to watch for this class. However, you can finish them very feasibly as long as you balance your time correctly. Study groups, set hours for work and play, or do whatever works best for you.
- Apply to go on a Global Seminars program! It was such an amazing experience to be able to travel and study abroad! The readings and movies will help you better understand the subject. Even more so when you go on excursions! The material seems more applicable. You'll make great friends, experience a new culture, and get some classes out of the way.
