Last week in Chile
I’m so sad that my time in Chile is over! It all went by way too fast. I’ll definitely be visiting again. Anyways, this week I was busy focusing on studying for finals and finishing up my final essay for HUM, so I wasn’t able to get many photos.
On Monday, we spent a lot of our day in class and studying the books we’ve read throughout the session in preparation for our in-class essay. For dinner, my friends and I decided to try this pizza restaurant a block away from our hotel. It wasn’t great, but we were able to get some good photos together out of it.
On Wednesday, after finishing our final exam, we tried exploring this market down south that we saw on TikTok, but it ended up being closed. We took a whole 40 minute Uber drive there, so we were pretty disappointed. Eventually, we decided to try a French restaurant closer to our hotel in Providencia, which did not disappoint. We all decided to try different cocktails, entrees, and desserts. Everything was delicious!
On Thursday, we had our last excursion to San Cristobal Hill. There, we took the funicular up to the top and saw many pretty views. Our professor even surprised us with ice cream as a last surprise! The farewell continued into Friday, when we had our farewell dinner with everyone as our final goodbye. There was excellent live music which made up for the bland food. Then, later that night, my friends and I decided to go out for the last time together before we all went our separate ways. I was so sad to be leaving them, but now I’ll have many new best friends when I go back to school in a few weeks!
Overall, I’m very grateful to have gotten the chance to experience studying abroad. Although I was initially nervous since I didn’t know anyone prior to the trip, I made so many amazing friends and I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. Thank you Santiago!
