Goodbye Taiwan

WEEK FIVE IN TAIWAN!

 By: Daniel Villasenor

My last week in Taiwan is here, and I am very sad that it's all come to an end. This week, I said goodbye to all my professors, classmates, and friends that I've met here in Taiwan. During class, we shared a presentation which showed our lives in the US as students and vice versa while eating food together. After this I started packing and spending some more time with friends, making sure that we would be able to visit some more places before we leave.

After the final day of class, I decided to walk around the NTU Campus which was really peaceful even though classes were still ending. The main library looked really nice and walking around the rest of the university, it looked beautiful. Even though the weather was a bit humid and hot, the views keep you walking around campus and make for a good trip. The NTU campus also has a farm which is very diffente from UCSD. Once I decided it was time to head back, I went to 7-Eleven and got myself a fruit smoothie which was really good.

On the day after my final class, I decided to head to one of the places I had yet to visit, Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. I hopped on the MRT and stepped up to a giant gate and knew I had arrived. The memorial hall was huge and makes you're feel really small as each building looks way bigger in person.  Going inside the main building, there is a museum where you can learn about some history along with some important dates for Taiwan itself. This memorial hall was interesting to visit and I enjoyed exploring it.

On my last day in Taiwan, I packed my bags and got ready for the 13 hour flight ahead of me. I couldn't help but to feel really sad about the fact that I have to leave my friends and amazing people. Im really grateful to have had the opportunity to visit Taiwan as it has been a truly memorable experience and has changed how I perceive the world. I hope that I can visit Taiwan again one day.

I headed to the airport, checked into my flight, got through security, boarded my plane, and said goodbye to Taiwan. As the plane took off, I thought of everything I did while studying abroad here.

After 13 hours, I arrived at LAX, tired and ready for the next school year. I can't wait to see how I can apply what I've learned and share my experiences with others.

Thank you for this opportunity!

Best Regards,
Daniel Villasenor
